1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Cook Paddy mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Cook Paddy ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Description of Service

Cook Paddy is a mobile application that helps users:

• Import and organize recipes from various sources
• Create and manage digital cookbooks
• Generate grocery lists from recipes
• Set cooking reminders and tasks
• Search recipes by ingredients or voice commands
• Scan cookbook pages and ingredients

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.

4. Account Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account using:

• Apple Sign-In
• Google Sign-In

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or share through the App, including:

• Recipes you create or import
• Photos and images
• Notes and comments
• Cookbook collections

5.2 License to Us

By uploading content to the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Store and display your content within the App
• Process your content to provide App features (e.g., OCR for scanning)
• Back up your content for data security

We will not share your recipes or personal content with other users without your consent.

5.3 Content Standards

You agree not to upload or share content that:

• Violates any laws or regulations
• Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
• Promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
• Contains spam, malware, or viruses

6. Recipe Import and Copyright

When importing recipes from external sources:

• You are responsible for respecting copyright and intellectual property rights
• Recipes imported are for your personal, non-commercial use
• We recommend adding proper attribution to recipe sources
• We may include source links where recipes are imported from URLs

7. Subscription and Payments

7.1 Cook Paddy Pro

We offer a premium subscription ("Cook Paddy Pro") with additional features:

• Unlimited recipe imports
• Video recipe imports from TikTok/Instagram
• Cookbook page scanning
• Voice search
• Advanced AI features

7.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Prices are shown in the App and may vary by region
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store/Google Play account settings

7.3 Refunds

Refund requests must be made through the App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

8. Intellectual Property

The App and its original content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by Cook Paddy and are protected by:

• Copyright laws
• Trademark laws
• Other intellectual property rights

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App's code or design
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App
• Remove or alter any copyright or trademark notices
• Use our branding or logos without permission

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• Firebase (Google) for data storage and authentication
• RevenueCat for subscription management
• Apple/Google for authentication and payments

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

10.1 "As Is" Service

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement

10.2 Recipe Accuracy

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of:

• Recipes imported from external sources
• User-generated content
• Recipe extraction from photos or videos

Users should verify recipe information and use common sense when preparing food.

10.3 Food Safety

10.4 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data
• Loss of profits
• Personal injury
• Food-related incidents

11. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
• Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the App
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

12. Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms
• Remove any content that violates these Terms
• Discontinue the App or any features at any time

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App will cease immediately
• We may delete your account and data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
• You may request to export your data before account deletion

13. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through:

• In-app notifications
• Email (if provided)
• Updated "Last Updated" date

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.

15. Dispute Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@cookpaddy.com

We will attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the use of the App.
